The Bay of Islands Trust’s star attraction is the Gabriel, which is a wonderful example of a working steam engine – and the only one of her class left in the world. The Trust has been funded to replace the 100-year-old steam boiler with a new one and asked Index Engineering to help. Index designed the replacement boiler to relevant current codes, using metric dimensions and all new materials. Drawings have been produced by our Design team, through to fabrication stage.
